Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person’s perception of events – rather than the events themselves – that determines how they will feel and act in response. Most people with clearly defined behavioral and emotional concerns tend to reap the benefits of CBT. With CBT, you’ll be able to adjust the thoughts that directly influence your emotions and behavior.

Counseling for Anxiety

Is anxiety taking over your life? Does it feel like you can’t control it no matter how hard you try? Have you already tried therapy but found it ineffective? If this sounds like you, I’m confident I can help. My practice offers the most effective forms of treatment, to get the relief from anxiety that you deserve. When it comes to treating anxiety disorders, research shows that therapy is usually the most effective option. That’s because anxiety therapy – as opposed to anxiety medication – treats more than just symptoms to the problem.

Counseling for New Mothers

For new moms, it can be upsetting and frightening to have feelings about motherhood that don’t seem “right.” For some women, cultivating an exercise routine, a healthy diet, and receiving help and support from family and friends are sufficient enough to get through the initial adjustment period. For others, talking to a therapist who specializes in dealing with new motherhood issues can be comforting, relieving, and enlightening. Therapists who have education and training in postpartum disorders understand that hormone changes, personal and family history, and social support are all vital factors in understanding and alleviating postpartum symptoms.

Life Transitions

Has your life been touched by a major event such as a death, divorce, or layoffs at work? Are you having a hard time moving through and past the emotional turmoil? Do you feel completely stuck and like you need guidance getting back on track? There’s no denying that life often presents us with our fair share of challenges, usually in the form of sudden change. These life transitions, even the positive ones, can throw us into a tailspin and leave us feeling stressed, confused, and vulnerable. But with the right tools and mindset, you have the power to not only overcome any adversity but also transform into a more authentic and confident version of yourself.

Therapy for Self-Love

Do you struggle with navigating insecurities and find yourself often making comparisons to others? Has it been difficult remain present and confident when engaging socially or making new connections? Are you desiring to present authentically in your relationships or at work? Have you been struggling to step outside of your comfort zone and embrace your potential and needs, to feel true satisfaction and peace?

Then you may benefit from working to cultivate Self-Love. Unlike self-esteem which is a concept that speaks to how we feel about ourselves in the eyes of others. Nurturing Self-Love is all about self-acceptance, honoring your worth without hesitation or rationale. Consistently and proudly showing yourself respect in all areas of life, without shame and without judgment.

Women’s Issues

Have you lost much of the joy you once felt? Are you struggling in a one-sided or toxic relationship? Has balancing your many hats contributed to burnout, frustration and even resentments? Is your self-image negatively impacting your self-worth resulting in critical self-talk and uncomfortable emotions?

Women may experience certain environmental, psychological, and biological challenges related to gender that have a significant and unique impact on their mental health and well-being. If not addressed properly, these challenges can turn into burdens that often lead to anxiety, depression, and a lost sense of self.
